Dr. Craig M. Starling is a Vanderbilt trained orthodontic specialist serving the Nashville metropolitan area since 2004. He grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia and attended the University of Maryland, College Park where he obtained a B.S. in Microbiology. After graduation, he returned to his home state of Virginia to attend the Medical College of Virginia for his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. After completion of dental school, Dr. Starling relocated to Nashville where he attended Vanderbilt’s 36 month program in orthodontics under Dr. Harry Legan. Following graduation from Vanderbilt, Dr. Starling started his orthodontic practice in Brentwood. Since opening his practice, Dr. Starling has maintained a solo practice focused on learning the latest techniques in the specialty and staying on the edge with new technology. In order to learn the new techniques and technologies, Dr. Starling maintains a very active continuing education schedule. In the past two year cycle, Dr. Starling accumulated almost 3 times the required amount of credits by the Tennessee Dental Board. As many of his patients know, Dr. Starling has developed quite an interest in lingual (hidden) braces and in 5 short years has become the top provider of 3M Incognito™ hidden braces in not only Middle Tennessee, but the entire state. Dr. Starling remains active in the local dental community where he is involved in the Nashville Dental Society, American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, the Millennium Study Club, and the Governor’s study club. He is also a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church and a supporter of the Interfaith Dental Clinic. Dr. Starling resides in Nashville with his daughter, Lillian, and wife Margaret. He enjoys home improvement projects, sports, dining, and traveling.
